Lisbon Sailing Tour Prices, and What Each Fare Buys

A seat on the river costs from $28 for an hour to $289 for a whole boat, and the Lisbon sunset cruises sit near the bottom of that range. What the difference buys is time on the water, the size of the boat, and how much is poured.

How much does a Lisbon sailing tour cost?

For two hours on a shared boat, $34 to $69 a person. The one-hour sail costs $28 a person, the 90-minute sunset catamaran $31 a person, and the whole sailboat for up to six $289 per group (up to 6).

Every fare covers the boat, the crew and what the listing pours. None includes pickup from your hotel, and many leave out tips. Prices move with the date, so the booking page shows the fare for your evening.

What does the cheapest fare buy?

An hour on a sailboat from the Bom Sucesso marina in Belém, with a beer or soft drink, spring water and a light snack. The crew let you help sail the boat, when the wind allows, with no experience needed.

The 90-minute sunset catamaran from Santo Amaro is the other low fare, at $31 a person. That buys a welcome drink, a bar for the rest, music and two toilets on a wide, stable boat, timed to the sunset, with a host but no tour guide.

What the one-hour fare does not buy is a guide: its crew are not official guides. The same listing sells a two-hour option and a sunset option at higher fares, and the route follows the tide and the wind.

What do you get for $50 to $70?

At the top of the shared fares you pay for a bigger, more polished sailboat and a second drink. The sunset yacht sail from Belém costs $69 per person (minimum 2) and pours two drinks with snacks, on a 50- to 58-foot sailing yacht with a skipper-guide and a host.

The small-group sunset sail from Belém costs $55 a person with one drink and live commentary, and the open-bar yacht cruise from Santo Amaro costs $56 a person with wine, beer and soft drinks poured for two hours.

Is the wine in the fare or at the bar?

It depends on the boat, and it is the biggest hidden difference in price. On the wine sails ($34 to $38) the wine comes with the fare, and on the traditional boat ($40 a person) white wine is served freely.

On most sailboats the fare buys one welcome drink. The red-flag-van sunset sail sells wine and sparkling wine on board, and the catamaran sells further drinks at its bar, for cash or card. One catamaran passenger put its bar prices at roughly €5 to €15 a drink.

What costs extra on board?

Only what you choose, but the list differs by boat.

• Drinks beyond the fare: at the catamaran's bar, and wine on the red-flag-van sail.
• Food: catering on the red-flag-van sail, ordered 24 hours ahead; cheese boards, platters and salads on the two-and-a-half-hour sail.
• On the whole-boat sail: wine or sparkling wine by the bottle, a tapas board for two at €45 ordered two days ahead, and a €50 fee to bring your own food or drink.
• Tips: left out of most fares.

Per person or per boat?

Every shared boat charges per person. The private sailboat charges per group: $289 per group (up to 6) for up to six, whether two of you go or six.

Split six ways that is about $48 each, inside the shared two-hour range. For a couple it is $144 each, so it only pays off as the group grows.

What does an hour on the water cost?

Divide the fare by the hours and the cheapest boats are not always the best value. The two-and-a-half-hour sail costs less per hour than the one-hour sail.

Which fare pours the most for the least?

The wine sails. At $34 to $38 a person they cost less than most two-hour sailboats, and the wine comes with the fare rather than one welcome glass. The helm wine sail adds beer, water and snacks, and the tapas sail a board of Portuguese cheeses.

Is a daytime sail cheaper than a sunset one?

From the same operator, yes. The Lisbon By Boat daytime yacht sail costs $52 a person and the sunset sail on the same yachts $69 per person (minimum 2), $17 more for the evening light. The day sail pours two drinks with a cheese appetiser; the sunset one pours two with snacks.

The day-or-sunset sail from Alcântara sells morning, afternoon and sunset slots from $34 a person, and the booking page shows the fare for each slot. If the sunset itself is not the point, a daytime sail is warmer, brighter and often cheaper.

When do the prices change?

The fares here are the prices shown in late September 2026, per person in US dollars, for the coming dates. Operators move them with the season, the day of the week and demand, so the fare on your date may differ.

What stays the same is the shape: the one-hour sail at the bottom, the wine sails and small sailboats in the middle, the Belém yachts at the top of the shared fares, and the whole boat priced per group. Check the booking page for the live figure before you decide.

Do children pay?

Usually, yes. A few listings set a child band: the red-flag-van sunset sail for ages 4 to 12, the daytime yacht sail for ages 3 to 12, and the traditional boat for ages 6 to 12. Infants ride on a lap on several boats.

The sunset yacht sail charges every age the adult fare and books for two or more. The booking page shows the rate for your party before you pay.

Should you tip the crew?

A tip is your choice, and many fares leave it out: the Belém yachts, the small-group sail, the ten-guest sunset sailboat, the open-bar yacht and the traditional boat all list gratuities as extra. Bring a little cash if you want to leave one.

No listing sets an amount, and nobody on board will ask. On the boats where the crew spend two hours talking you through the city, a tip is the usual way to say it was worth it.

What do the refund rules cost you?

Every boat cancels free up to 24 hours before the start. Inside 24 hours nothing is refunded, and the catamaran refunds nothing for a no-show or a late arrival.

If the operator cancels for weather, or because too few people booked, you get another date or a full refund. So the one real risk is your own lateness: allow time to find the gate.

Is it worth the money?

If you want the waterfront from the water at sunset, with someone naming what you pass, yes. A two-hour sail costs about the same as a good dinner, and the river is the city's best view.

Value depends on the pour and the group. For a couple who want wine, a wine sail is the best buy on the river. For a family, the catamaran's low fare and short trip suit tired children. For six friends, the whole boat costs about the same as six shared seats and gives you the deck to yourselves.
